Is Newton superstitious who predicts end of the world on or after 2020 A.D.? Don’t worry. Today I don’t talk about something like religion or psychology. Today we focus only on Science.
I believe that anything in this universe which has beginning must be ending. Yeah, Yeah I know our Universe or Space-time has no edge or ending point. But it does not mean that there won’t be in future. Because our physics has many laws to say how the universe began. I mean we believe that there was beginning point of the universe. Remind the singularity before the Big Bang for instance. So you must believe that the universe will end one day, right?
Scientists’ Views
Before I express my views, I want to present what other scientists say about the end of the world over the next century.
Professor Frank Fenner, who eradicated smallpox, has said that the human race will extinct in the next 100 years. The professor is working at the Australian National University. According to him, the climatic change will be the main cause of the human demise which is unstoppable. Similarly, in 2006 A.D., Professor James Lovelock also warned that the world’s population will sink as low as 500 million over the next century due to the global warming. Dailymail has reported.
According to Discovery Channel, Scientists have detected a powerful asteroid that may hit the earth in 2036 A.D. It is 100,000 times bigger than a nuclear bomb. If it does, there is no chance of human life on the earth.
In 2008 A.D., Global Catastrophic Risk Conference was held at the University of Oxford in which a group of experts on global catastrophic risk reported that there is 19% chance of the human extinct over the next century. Likewise, David Pimentel, the professor of ecology and agriculture at Cornel University and Mario Giampietro, senior researcher at the National Research Institute on Food and Nutrition has said that agricultural crisis will begin after 2020 A.D. and it will be critical after 2050 A.D. It means people will be dying of starvation. Wikipedia has mentioned.
My Opinions
I think the world will end within 2085 A.D. In 2076 A.D., the non-renewable fuels {80% fuels we use are non-renewable} will finish on the earth. Have our scientists planned any alternative for it? Similarly, what happens to the thousands of nuclear bombs of the world? And what about the large experiments of particle physics that can be the cause of either natural disasters or black hole to swallow the earth? Are we unknowingly making a device that can finish the world? Moreover, what will be the result of the progress of artificial intelligence? Are we prepared for the robot war? What happens if the sun untimely becomes a red giant? What can we do if the energy of the sun will finish and the earth goes inside the sun? What if the global warming makes the earth hotter than Venus? Can we survive? These all things are the signs that we are going towards the end. The earth has already faced many ends in the past. The extinction of the dinosaurs due to the hit of a huge asteroid is one of the examples.
Conclusion
We have already made a big hole on our ship. And we have arrived in the middle of the vast ocean. We don’t have time to return back. Neither can we believe that our ship won’t sink in the ocean. In this situation, if we try to save ourselves, there is no chance of success at all. But if we try to save the ship, that can save our lives too.
